About Dr. Nye

Dr. Nathaniel Nye is a fellowship-trained Sports Medicine physician who specializes in the diagnosis and nonsurgical treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and painful conditions. He utilizes ultrasound to provide high-resolution imaging at the point of care to enable accurate and timely diagnosis. He has extensive experience with ultrasound-guided injections, and provides multiple cutting edge therapies such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP), prolotherapy, and hydrodissection. He also has a passion for running medicine and provides detailed running gait analysis.

Dr. Nye received his medical training in the military and served 13 years on active duty in the Air Force. He has a large ongoing research trial on bone stress injury, and has published over 35 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters on topics including injury prevention, exertional heat illness, forearm fractures, and more. He is highly regarded nationally, was elected to the Board of Directors of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, and served a four-year term.

Dr. Nye and his wife, Jessica, have 4 awesome kids. Dr. Nye grew up mostly in the Seattle area, and Jessica grew up in Orem, UT. They finished their last duty assignment with the Air Force in the Washington, DC area in 2023 and moved to Cedar City. They intend to stay in this area for many years. Dr. Nye loves the outdoors, including hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, trail running, Jeeping, and (above all) birdwatching. He has been an avid birdwatcher his entire life, and some of his earliest memories in life involved birdwatching with his dad.
